Position Overview: Our client is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the use and management of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requirements to work with various government agencies.

Requirements:
  • Must possess expertise in the procedures and processes associated with governmental policy decisions, FMLA management and compliance requirements, as well as have a strong knowledge of FMLA management best practices.
  • Excellent communications skills, including the ability to attain consensus among user groups, and the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior executives.
  • Must have extensive and relevant government or private industry experience concerning FMLA.
  • At least 10 years’ experience evaluating current policy, planning & developing policy and implementing best practices in FMLA.
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. Strongly prefer a Juris Doctor or Law degree.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide in-depth analysis and review of current “As Is” FMLA practices and policies of government agencies including but not limited to general administration, comprehensive case management, and program compliance with federal law, policy, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Provide practical, nonpartisan advice and evidence-based strategies based on nationwide best practices as to how FMLA should be managed (i.e. “To Be” state) across agencies.
  • Advises on the development of reporting metrics and analytics of all leave cases. Provides written reports of analysis and work closely with designated personnel to communicate findings and recommendations per the client requirements
  • Provide additional follow up analysis, assessments, and/or reporting based on continuous needs of senior officials.
