Overview: The Data Specialist/Analyst supports our client’s Energy Management Information Systems team with primary responsibility for the development and production of reports and graphics. Secondary responsibilities include spreadsheet analysis, documentation of processes, and software systems support. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintains data entry requirements by following policies and procedures
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
  • Verifies entered data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data
  • Review/create audit reports and resolves errors to ensure data integrity
  • Download/import data files; manipulate and analyze large data sets using scripting and query tools
  • Responsible for preparing, loading, auditing, and correcting data imports
  • Analyzing large datasets (delimited data, high volume pdf processing, large spreadsheets) and documenting issues/providing suggestions to management
  • Create, implement, and maintain data file structures
  • Creating and maintaining Kofax Capture batch classes and programming Kofax Transformation Modules Projects
  • Creating Excel VBA functions/ modules to prepare raw data for import and automate QA tasks
  • Authoring and maintaining XSLT documents to extract data from XML source files into comma-delimited file formats
  • Authoring and maintaining Access databases that track the lifecycle for data artifacts (receipt, loading, QA) and provides meaningful reports to management
Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of other Office products including Microsoft Access
  • Ability to maintain/modify custom scripts for XML data transformations (XSLT)
  • Experience with document capture and imaging software (Kofax 10.1/KTM 6.1)
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Detail oriented and results driven
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly
  • Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task and maintain/meet deadlines
  • Experience in energy/utility industry desired but not required
  • EnergyCap experience is desired but not required.
